A bookable event this year, Smokey’s Trail will be held upon request for large groups at various locations throughout the forest.
An interactive hiking activity for children, Smokey’s Trail will lead families around Wildwood Recreation Area, the ZigZag Ranger Station, Trillium Lake and other forest locations to discuss fire prevention, forest ecology, geology, archaeology and more. Children of all ages will surely enjoy meeting the big guy himself and having a picnic lunch in Mount Hood National Forest.
Last yea’rs Smokey’s Trail was a big success, and we hope to keep this program on as a great way to teach fire managment through fun, interactive activities for children.
