Wildflower Event
Come to Timberline Lodge for a discussion on wildflowers with Elizabeth Howley, followed by a special guided nature hike and some fun activities in wildflower identification. Check back for dates and more information.
Junior Ranger Day
Bring the kids to meet Smokey Bear and take part in fun conservation education activities. They’ll earn their Junior Ranger badge and get lots of great goodies to take home.

Smokey Bear’s 65th Birthday Bash
Have some cake with the big guy, who turns 65 this year!

Friends of the Forest Day
This year’s Friends of the Forest Day brings volunteers together to complete service projects in the forest. Friends of the Forest volunteers will dedicate their morning to trail work and other renovations. More information on dates, location and specific project details will be available soon.
Festival of the Forest
A music, arts and crafts festival at Wildwood Recreational Area, this festival happens every year in September. The Forest Service answer visitors questions and display items at their tents each year. This year’s event will feature nature hikes, the ”Passport to the Forest,” fire prevention, Smokey Bear’s story and song and more! Join us September 12 and 13 from noon to 6 p.m. at Wildwood. $5 per car, per day. A portion of the proceeds benefit Special Olympics Oregon.
Kiwanis Walk, Roll or Stroll
Forest Rangers and Smokey Bear help Kiwanis raise money and awareness at this year’s Walk, Roll or Stroll event on September 26 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Willamette Shores Park. For more information, visit www.mhkc.org.
